/Franz Sam

Franz Sam is an architect and educator. He has been teaching as a lecturer and assistant professor at the University of Applied Arts since 2002. He studied architecture at the University of Innsbruck and graduated in 1984.
His work with students focuses squarely on questions of form and material. The development of space-forming constructions is at the core of this project. The chosen material and applied technologies are key considerations.
From 1985 to 1992, he was a co-worker and project architect, playing a key role in the planning and construction phase of Coop Himmelb(l)au. He has two architectural offices in Vienna and Krems since 1992. He is a member of the Cultural Senate of the Federal Province of Lower Austria and Chairman of its architectural advisory board.
