Damjan Minovski is a senior lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and an independent visual artist. He studied architecture at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in the Studio of Wolf Prix and graduated in 2011. From 2013 to 2015 he was teaching at the University of Applied Arts in the studio of Hani Rashid and was a research fellow at the PEEK project “GrAB” led by Barbara Imhof and Petra Gruber. From 2015 he spent two years at the University of Innsbruck at the “institute for experimental architecture.hochbau” led by Marjan Colletti, where he was teaching design studios as well as continuing his research in the field
of robotic fabrication. Since 2017 he has been teaching at the Academy of fine Arts Vienna.
As a freelance visual artist he worked for several renowned architecture offices such as Asymptote Architecture, Hans Hollein and Coop Himmelblau. He frequently collaborates with Liquifer Systems Group on R&D projects doing scientific and artistic visualisations.
In 2018 he co-founded 2MVD, an artistic collaboration with Valerie Messini focusing on combining architecture with innovations and advances in the field of digital art and technology. They realized several large scale installations and their work has been widely exhibited. Damjan is part of the ROOTARCH team.
